Prudencia

Feature fiction | Uruguay · El Salvador · Argentina | In development

A biographical and sensorial drama about Prudencia Ayala, the Salvadoran writer and activist who turned her body, her writing and her public presence into a challenge to the racial, economic and patriarchal order of her time. Through coffee landscapes, Indigenous memory, textiles, domestic work and a journey by mule towards Guatemala, the film follows her path to a presidential candidacy in a country that did not yet recognise women as citizens.
